I have been a dreamer all my life. As a young child I was often looking outside and not paying attention in class — which as You can imagine got me into trouble when in school. Outside of school, where I enjoyed more freedom and flexibility, I loved the outdoors, especially the nearby woods, fields and rivers and ponds.

 

Some people are surprised to learn that I grew up in a farming community in Minnesota in a very small town. My upbringing and environment has always impacted my favorite concepts of design and imagery. Artistic subjects like barns, farm animals and rural

Settings are enjoyable themes that elicit nostalgic and good memories. When I moved to West Coast after college, I fell in love with California’s mountains, deserts, ocean and other majestic landscapes.

 

I earned my BFA at St.Cloud University, and then enjoyed a career in Graphic Design with design and display elements, using color and composition and printmaking to meet my employer’s needs. Later, I received my certification in Interior Design and then worked as an Interior Designer In San Diego for many years. 

 

Even during my work as a Graphic Designer and Interior Designer, I have always been active with my drawing and painting, and collaborative works with other artists, in Balboa Park and other areas. Knowing this background, when you look at my art portfolio, you will probably notice the design elements and thought put into my painting process, which I love.

 

I am a member of various art communities and organizations, including Athenaum La Jolla, Coronado Art Association, Spanish Village Art Center.
